Sydney Street Projects operates under the laws, regulations and standards that apply to the type of work we perform across the Upper Hunter and regional NSW. Our commitment is simple: we comply with both the letter and the spirit of the law, and we will never compromise safety, ethics or community trust.
Our work is guided by the following legal and regulatory frameworks:
1. Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW)
2. Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017 (NSW)
3. SafeWork NSW Codes of Practice relevant to our activities
4. Environmental responsibilities, including correct handling and disposal of waste
5. Australian Consumer Law, covering quotes, variations, refunds and guarantees
6. Privacy obligations, including responsible handling of client information, photos and reports
These frameworks shape how we plan work, supervise people, manage risk and communicate with clients.
Insurance and Public Liability
Sydney Street Projects maintains current insurance coverage to protect our clients, our workers and the community.
Our insurance includes:
1. Public Liability Insurance: Certificate of currency available on request
2. Workers Compensation Insurance: Covering all workers and supervised trainees
3. Vehicle and equipment insurance: For work‑related use of SSP vehicles and tools
We provide certificates of currency to councils, government agencies and commercial clients whenever required.
Safety and Risk Management
Safety is not negotiable. It is the foundation of every decision we make.
Our safety commitments include:
1. Conducting site safety assessments before work begins
2. Using Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for relevant tasks
3. Applying fatigue and journey management for travel, especially to Level 2 and Level 3 locations
4. Respecting weather‑related risks and postponing work when conditions are unsafe
5. Ensuring all workers and trainees use appropriate PPE
6. Following client incident reporting systems, or our own reporting process where required
7. Exercising the right to refuse unsafe work without exception
If a site is unsafe, we will not proceed until hazards are addressed.
This protects our people, our clients and the community.
Professional Conduct and Boundaries
To maintain fairness, safety and professionalism, Sydney Street Projects operates with clear boundaries.
We will not:
1. Perform work that breaches WHS laws or SafeWork NSW guidelines
2. Continue work on a site that is unsafe or inaccessible
3. Accept instructions that contradict safety requirements or legal obligations
4. Take responsibility for hazards outside our control
5. Proceed with variations unless they are agreed to in writing
We expect clients to:
1. Provide safe access to the site
2. Give accurate information about the work required
3. Communicate respectfully and professionally
4. Understand that safety may require postponement or changes to the planned work
These boundaries protect Justin, the business, and the people we serve.
Our Commitment
Our legal obligations are important — but our values matter just as much. They guide how we treat people, how we make decisions, and how we show up for our community.
1. We will always comply with the letter and spirit of the law.
2. We will always put safety before profit or convenience.
3. We will always respect our people, our clients and our community.
4. We will always strive to set new benchmarks for professionalism, transparency and trust.
For our team:
We are committed to ensuring every person who works with us goes home safe and healthy. That means refusing unsafe conditions, respecting weather‑related risks, and supporting a balanced work/life environment.
For our clients:
We treat every project with professionalism, transparency and respect. We expect the same courtesy in return, because professionalism and kindness go hand in hand. True sustainability is built on safe people, respectful relationships and quality outcomes that last.
